Hot Takes Welcome (Post Raiders Loss)

Mark Sanchez said it best. A full offseason in an NFL program could do wonders for Rattlers development. Still think he’s a “see what we have in year 3” kind of guy.

The talent is there but

A. Decision making needs to improve
B. Bad footwork and habits lead to spotty Ball location and high throws.
C. Pre-Snap recognition and having answers for the blitz. That may be more scheme than him.
D. Needs to learn to put touch on his passes.
These are all pretty significant things he needs to improve upon to be a viable NFL QB.

How many truly successfully NFL QBs had that many things to improve upon going into their first offseason? Not being snarky, just seriously curious.

Also, it’s important to consider that Rattler probably won’t be getting a full offseason as the prohibitive starter as he’ll be behind Carr again.

My hot take is that I didn’t see much out of Rattler that made me feel optimistic this season. Everything I’ve seen of him (taking the whole season into account) has been pretty average to slightly below average. He’s got a live arm, which is nice but it doesn’t seem like there’s much else there to get excited about.

I keep seeing all the posts about his huge upside and I just keep trying to see it - and don’t. Maybe it’s just me. Maybe I’m too old and out of touch with todays NFL.
