It’s easy to say just eat it now but we have to come up with another 30 mil in cuts/restructures (63 mil total) somewhere else to do that. Then we have to spend more money signing another QB.
This is when you realize that most people don't realize what true tanking really is. Why would true tanking team have to sign another QBs unless we believe that all we need is a good experienced QB to contend?
A true tank job would be to go with the three cheap QBs we have and expect nothing from any of them. We (fans & franchise) would have to accept going with these low cost contracts and be willing to suffer through another miserably bad season in order to pay off some of the cap debt.
But that is NEVER going to happen. As any GM would do, Mickey will pretend that we really have something special and can actually compete by having signed a few more key players. Neither the fans nor the league will allow for an obvious tanking going into a season. That simply won't sell tickets or improve advertising.
