That's a byproduct of our salary cap management. It was cheaper for us to extend a guy we should cut. The hard part is that we could never be a "better to cut a guy a year too early than a year too late" team because of cap issues. Just like Carr. I like him but we all know he isn't the long term answer. But we're gonna keep him because we have to do cap shenanigans to get under the cap. That means we keep him a year longer than we want. Just like we're keeping Demario, Mathieu, Cam. They are serviceable but ideally you would move on from them and save money. But it will cost us to cut them and we can't afford it.
