Aaron Glenn and the Saints: Smart Hire or Familiar Misstep? (merged)

Detroit’s winning games despite their defense.
Detroit’s defense helped them become a 14-2 team for most weeks up to this point. There were 6 games of holding opponents to 14 points or less, including a few games of 6-9 points allowed. Most of their other games ranging between 16-20 points allowed.

They allowed 16.9 PPG coming into December before playing Buffalo and San Fran in 2 of the last 3 weeks. T-8th in PPG allowed after week 16.

Their run defense is 3rd in least rushing yards allowed. Pass defense is 31st in passing yards allowed but T-3rd in INTs. They have opportunistic DBs but lacking shutdown cover corners who won’t give up a lot of passing yards which explains the passing yards allowed ranking.
