We Needed This Beatdown

SMH , Chris Sims??? 30 yrs ago . PLayers are faster and stronger than ever before and collisions are harder. Yes the NFLPA has them babied. But that dos not alter the fact that this team ios the most decimated by injuries team in 30 yrs
30 years ago (actually 18) or not, players used to play for more than a paycheck. Yes; the league, with its rule changes, Machiavellian punishments, and season extensions has proven time and again that it's a business. Our own Sean Payton used the injury report and IR to stash players that he wanted fresh for certain games, or who he thought would be good for the team later. "He has a knee" became a running gag on this site. I think it's pretty obvious his players learned something from that as well.

While I do understand that injuries have hurt us, I do not believe the severity of EVERY ONE of those injuries in comparison to days of old.

We (the team) once had a passion for the game; for each other. It may be there still, but I don't see it like I used to. And using injuries as an excuse just doesn't cut it in my eyes.
