Vehicle plows into crowd on Bourbon St., with 14 fatalities

The cynic in me wants to point out that it took only 4 posts before we got a post advocating for removing all traffic from Bourbon. We're now on page 5 and there hasn't been a single rebuttal implying that it's not the trucks fault, or that's too drastic or what about law abiding drivers or...
Well, the thing is that typically every night in the FQ starting around 6 p.m., the streets are routinely blocked off to regular vehicle traffic allowing only residents, deliveries, and emergency. Events like this the times would be earlier and last longer.

On a "good" day, driving through the FQ is fraught with other cars, delivery vehicles, bikes, hansom cabs, pedi cabs, and pedestrian tourists who aren't paying any attention to any of the above.
