Vehicle plows into crowd on Bourbon St., with 14 fatalities

Couple of quick thoughts.

1) Condolences to the family and friends of the victims of this traumatic event. And to the city of NO during what's supposed to be a time of celebration. Awful situation.

2) I've seen some express that the NFL, NCAA etc will have second thoughts about holding their biggest events there, and I don't think that's true at all. And why should NOLA suffer needlessly (they've alteady suffered enough) because of something someone not from the city did? The barricade issue if it turns out the city botched that, will be a big deal though.

3) My first thought is this was domestic terrorism, but we don't know because we don't know who the perpetrator was and what his motives were. Until the facts are known, I'd just say it was terrorism, but don't know if it's simply domestic or not, and particularly of interest is the speculation that the flag was an ISIS flag.

We'll find out soon enough imo.
