The Saints Season Ends on the evening of Jan 5th 2025

I've been trying to understand why I feel exactly like you do. I have been watching the Saints for over 40 years and this is the most apathetic I can ever recall feeling about them. Even my father who has watched the Saints literally from their FIRST ever game said that for the FIRST time in his life, he turned off a Saints game before it was actually over. Two weeks ago during the shoutout, he switched the channel when it was 21-0. This was a monumental statement as my father and I had previously discussed how we always watch every second of a Saints game regardless of the outcome because that's how deep our passion for them goes. My brother also switched off. I am home in NOLA for the holidays and the Saints game was on and I was busy doing other things with the game on in the background, only tuning in mentally every now and then to catch a Saints penalty or some other gaffe, getting disappointed and tuning out again.

Yes, I know we have had miserable times before. Every Saints fan knows that. But something about this feels differently than any other Saints stretch. I can't put my finger on it but my feelings range from apathy to disgust. Lol

Same here. Went into the game not expecting much, literally turned it off, put a movie on and rolled over to sleep once it was 14-0 and GB was driving.

Guess it was just a silent protest on my part, and there have certainly been times where I’d abstain from watching altogether near the end of a putrid season rather than rooting for us to lose for draft reasons, but I absolutely have never done the “Plan to watch and root for us then turn the game off early and watch something else/go to bed” thing.
