Head Coach if there is no GM change

I don’t care what anyone else thinks on this matter, but I’m 100% positive imo that Payton left because of Loomis. Unable to get Payton the QBs he requested as Brees aged and the cap issue, watching that can get bigger and bigger while not replacing ageing vets, the storm that was coming was written on the wall long ago. And Payton saw it. So he dipped.

With that said, I agree 100% with the OP. Payton left because of Loomis, and no head coach candidate with any other options will come here. We are the worst option in the league, and candidates like Ben Johnson and Joe Brady will practically have their pick of what team to head coach for. If they don’t like any of the options, they’ll just go back to coordinator for a year like Ben Johnson did last offseason.

And with that said, I don’t think Aaron Glenn will have many options, we may be his only. And I don’t have any faith at all that Glenn will be a good enough head coach to turn this franchise around.

Looks like we’re in a desperate GM rut akin to how we were with a bad head coach a year ago.
