Is Mike McCarthy possibly the Saints next head coach if Dallas lets him walk?

I could live with Kingsbury getting hired here, as I think there's a level match in personalty flaws between the Saints and KK.

I prioritize the young offensive coach over the retreads.

Kliff was Mike Leach's first star QB running the Air Raid. That was a fairly unstoppable west coast, quick passing offense with lots of 4 and 5 receiver sets. They ran the ball well too, with the "splits" where the olinemen line up with a yard or two of distance between them. But the pedal to the metal offense does not translate in the pros (see Chip Kelly).

Tech could never recruit a defense so they could not win the big games late in the season.

But Leach was an innovator and rebel, like Payton.

Kliff has to show he has grown up. He's been petulant, superficial, and arrogant. He was all hat no cattle in Arizona. He has a personality similar to Baker Mayfield's, another guy who started at Texas Tech. Mayfield is finally maturing.

If Kliff has matured, then maybe he can fulfill the style and aura of Mike Leach, The Pirate.

l'll take Kingsbury for what he represents football-wise. A young offensive coach, whose lack of chops makes him a viable candidate in NOLA.

No to everyone else not named Joe Brady or Liam Coen. No to McCarthy - you will hate the guy. Maybe Vrabel because at least you know what you are going to get. A stable but boring football team.
