Well, if this report is true (not that it should be given any credibility), then it shows part of why he's being considered is because he'd give deference to Loomis, which would blatantly make him a yes man.

But even if the report isn't true (and let's hope it's not), it would be Loomis settling on another insular hire of a guy whose biggest asset seems to be that he was recently with the franchise, suggesting that, like Allen, he's someone Loomis feels he'd be able to control or that otherwise won't give him any push back -- i.e., a yes man.

I think the first part is fair, but I'm not sure how Glenn is really an insular hire. He only spent one year here as a player and 4 years as DB coach. He spent most of his career with the Jets and the last 3 years coaching in Detroit. Yes, he has some connections to the team and knows the City, but I don't see him as a continuation of anything. And I can't see someone who coached under Campbell and is a former good NFL player being a yes man for any GM.

I mean it's not like Glenn hasn't been talked about as a top HC candidate for the last couple years and there are rumors that he really wants the Jets job.

Also, I don't know that even DA was Loomis' yes man. I think it was more that Loomis was DAs yes man, trying to get Watson for him and getting Carr for him. And that giving DA what he wanted and failing to fire DA earlier is Loomis' true major flaw.
