I’m also not so sure Bijan Robinson is a better receiving threat than Jeanty. As someone who was a big Jeanty fan before his hype absolutely blew up this year, he was very effective as a receiving threat last year. I honestly thought he reminded me a ton of Kamara going into this season and made that comparison in the past.
Obviously Jeanty took his game to another level this year, which was awesome to see. However in doing so, since he was so dominant running the ball and chasing the all time single season rushing record, BSU really neglected to showcase his versatility this year (understandably so). However last year he was a true multi-threat RB. Jeanty’s receiving numbers last year were basically the equivalent of Bijan Robinson’s output in his final 2 college seasons combined. Bijan is a very solid receiving threat for a RB, but Jeanty is every bit as good if not better in that aspect.
If I was rating my top 5 prospects over the past 10 years as they were coming into the draft, I’d rank them:
Christian McCaffrey (I was very high on him in college)
Ashton Jeanty
Saquon Barkley
Bijan Robinson
Jonathan Taylor
1-3 are almost interchangeable as I thought they were all insanely good prospects. 4-5 were also excellent prospects, but just not quite up there as I didn’t think their standout traits were “quite” as elite as the top 3.
