Head Coach if there is no GM change

I imagine there’d have been a lot of handwringing had the FO blown it all up after Payton left.

“Why trade Kamara? He still had some years left” “Demario was so loved he did the pregame speeches!” “Cameron Jordan embodies what it means to be a Saint, why’d they cut him?” “Taysom is magic with the football in his hands, why give him away?” on and on and on, while floating a 3-win team full of castoffs and… well, who-dats.

Teams try to keep winning because everyone in the building enjoys winning. Fans say they’d be fine with some intentional losing. They are lying.
Agreed. I hate losing. I DESPISE the thought of intentional losing. I'm fine with losing as an unintended side-effect of building a dynasty....but the losing needs to be unintentional, with continued signs of improvement across the board (not just 1 player, or 1 aspect), and I need to believe it's necessary to incur that pain to reach the promised land. I'd do just about anything to achieve the stated goal, a Lombardi, short of cheating. I won't be happy about it, but I'll tolerate some losing if it results in bonafide progress...but it MUST result in forward progress. I'm not suggesting a path forward; nor agreement/disagreement with Saints organization. This is MY PERSONAL OUTLOOK and tolerance of the situation in front of us.
