League insiders tells Tony Pauline that Aaron Glenn will end up being Saints Head Coach [Edit: Underhill says no decision is close to being made]
I believe the story has merit, though it is speculation based on common sense.
Assuming Loomis will remain general manager, he already has an opinion on whether Aaron Glenn would make a good head coach and how he would fit in the Saints organization. If Loomis's opinion is that Glenn would make a successful head coach, then Glenn starts with a major advantage over every other head coach candidate the Saints will interview. This does not mean that the Saints have made a decision and will not seriously interview other candidates--Glenn, after all, could opt for another team. But it means he has a head start, again assuming Loomis has a high opinion of Glenn.
And if the Saints front office believes that Evans and Young are stars on the current coaching staff, it is easy to see the next coach, whether Glenn or someone else, retaining these coaches.
Speculation, yes. But common sense. This is how the world works.
