Not arguing that. But how many more games do you think you'd win with Carr at $30M vs. one of those others at say $10M?

If the answer is "not enough to make the playoffs" (which would be a fair projection based off Carr's history), then why not save some money and get in better position to acquire a difference maker at the position in 2026?

This is more or less where I am. Carr is getting paid around his level, but that's a lot of money to pay when you aren't a playoff team and need to rebuild most of your roster. I'd rather wish on a cheap young guy with potential than stick with Carr who is a solid top 15 QB when healthy, but isn't likely to be able to get this team into the playoffs. He likely could get several other teams to the playoffs and might be worth it to them, but IMO he isn't worth it to this team that needs to rebuild and needs to be looking for the QB of the future.
