Who is the definate #1 CB in the Draft?

I think its pretty much impossible to answer that question... everyone has their oown opinion of who is the best CB, but it can't be answered.

Different CBs excel in different schemes. A better question could have been...

Who is the best man-to-man CB?
Who is the best press man CB?
Who is the best zone (Cov-2) CB?
Who is the most physical CB (run support)?

And even these are opinionated.

I guess the best CB is the guy you like the most.

In my case.. I rank them:

Jenkins
DRC
McElvin
Talib
Cason
Flowers

But I want us to draft DRC...

I do love the questions you bring up. I would like one of these guys as well as either Dorsey, Ellis, or Rivers. I am not sure which of these corners best fits our team, nor am I sure which of the two top DTs are better for us. DRC's size and speed in shorts are very tempting, and who knows if this makes him a Haslett guy or if he has the intelligence and intangibles to be a Payton guy? I don't, but I am sure the FO has a good idea of what they want. Is there a way to wind up with a top DT and CB? As badly as I want the top DT more than the top CB, it may be impractical to get him. Considering the depth at CB and the drop off at DT, would it server us better to get the top DT and take the best corner available in round two? Or does the top corner for us-- again very debatable-- make us better in tandem with a tier two DT? In my point of view, no, but I have been yelling that all offseason.

Again I must consider if both DT's are gone and there is no realistic chance of getting Haynesworth, should we take someone like DRC in round one or grab Rivers and take the best corner left in round two? Of course if we take DRC, and he turns out to be all pro, and Dorsey battles injuries and Ellis reveals himself to be overrated, we look good. On the otherhand, we take either Dorsey or Ellis, and Flowers or Talib if available in round two, and both play well, maybe we look better. I just don't think the impact of DRC and say DT Sims are as good for us as maybe Ellis and best round two corner would be for us.

The purpose of this thread was to illustrate that none of us can decide who is the best corner for us; and that in doing so point out that the top two DT's are better options considering we can very likely get one of these top 5 corners in round two.
