Jets have requested to interview Darren Rizzi

There’s really nothing out there that says “he deserves a shot at a HC position” but I would agree that I’d like to see it happen for him. He has a lot to learn about that position and hopefully our willingness to let him fill that role helped him on that journey towards learning what it takes to lead an organization and not just 1/3 of the team.

The jets are toxic though
What you stated applies to almost every coach we’re interviewing. All new coaches learn on the job. It’s hard to go from coordinating a position group to becoming a leader of men. Most can’t make that transition (Dennis Allen). I’m no GM but based on what I saw from Rizzi, he has the makeup of a head coach. I’m not saying he’s the next Dan Campbell, but I think if you give him two good coordinators and let him focus on coaching you may have a solid team.
