Is this toxic masculinity that happened with what certain celebs said or did 20-25 years ago and being held to account now or did most of it happen within the past 6-7 years. If it's the former, then there's a lot of crazy sheet that great legendary comedians like Carlin, Pryor, or even Eddie Murphy would be in deep trouble for now or be held under a microscope compared to their glory days from the 70's and 80's? Louis C.K. says hello, BTW. 1990's-early 2000's Carlin was mostly just a bitter, angry disaffected old man trying to reinvent himself by taking cues from Bill Hicks, Chris Rock and Sam Kinison, especially Hicks and Kinison.
The closest comedic analogy maybe to Carlin or Prior today is IMHO, Dave Chappelle and he's faced far more intense, polarizing scrutiny then those other two ever did in their heyday.
