I'm the same way. I really want an offensive-minded HC, but damn if Glenn doesn't look like the right fit for this city and the right guy to lead this team.
Same. Prefer offense, but the right guy is the right guy. I just dont know about Glenns track record. His defenses havent been exactly the Steel Curtain.
My hope is that Glenn has other teams serious about hiring him, giving him negotiation chips in his pocket. He knows how Loomis operates. If we arent going to fire Loomis, we need to find ways to wrestle as much control as we can from him. If Glenn has other suitors, he can say he wants full control over his staff hires. Allen had no other suitors, or interviews. He either took the job under Loomis' conditions, or he could go look for work elsewhere as a DC.
I think Loomis had too much control over Allen. Allen wouldnt have been successful regardless, but I would like for the next HC to have more control over his team from the staff to the draft.
I guess that is the slippery slope in that, Loomis can hire another dolt like Allen simply because he can maintain control.
