Right, thats where we are. Ideally, Loomis letting his HC do his job is where we need to be. But I agree with you in reality. Even if Loomis is 100% convinced Glenn is the right guy, he is going to go another direction if he cant keep his thumb pressed on the power.

If Loomis continues his ego power trip, we will end up with another puppet - there is no better puppet than a special teams coach who went 3-5 as interim. As much as Id like for someone to be able to wrench some power from him, when you are judge, jury and executioner....with zero pressure on your position - you keep doing what youre doing.

I don't know where you get the idea that Loomis hires puppets. Both Payton and Allen were given a wide berth in both coaching staff decision-making and player personnel. Rizzi was the interim coach, so he wasn't put in a position of making personnel decisions. Had Rizzi been hired as the permanent coach, then Rizzi would have been given the reins. The puppet comment has no basis in fact.
