I don't know why any of this matters. What changed after DA was fired? 2-7 vs 3-5. Nothing. So, was firing DA mid-season helpful? No. I don't think that Loomis was against firing DA. Just mid-season. Though I have to admit, I certainly wasn't disappointed when DA was fired, but I don't think that doing it mid-season was the right decision. Because if you want to get a new HC, firing a guy mid-season hurts you from finding a good one, potentially.
DA was into his third underachieving season with us and was in the midst of a seven-game losing streak capped by that loss to the Panthers. I don't think his firing in that circumstance causes other coaches to look at this franchise differently.
DA was a cancer and really, REALLY needed to go. Were we better afterward? Nah, not really, but.. t'was a good thing to go ahead and get him out of the building.
