Ordinarily that's true, but the team had lost 7 straight games with an embarrassingly bad loss at the end of it. Fans and players alike were at their wit's end and it was time. Gayle stepping in was the correct thing to do and there's no doubt the coaches interviewing for the position understand what went down and why it did, so I don't think it's going to affect their decision making.

I do think maybe some other issues might cause a candidate to turn down the job, but what happened with Allen isn't one of them.
I think the only real benefit firing DA mid season was that we got to get a look at Rizzi and Young as DL coach . And we got rid of Grantham. It never looks good as an organization to fire a HC mid-season and RARELY makes a difference
