US 13 Dragway in Delmar, De. http://www.delawareracing.com/racedayinfo/
Nothing heavy duty and I didn't run NHRA sanctioned races because that's a much bigger commitment of both time and money. When there wasn't a sanctioned race, they would open the track to all us weekend warriors who just wanted to see how fast we were. For $5 per pass, you could run whatcha brung. I got a 10.9 second 1/4 mile @ 125mph on my Kawasaki 750 Turbo, and ran low to mid-12's @ ~110 with the Camaro. The goal was to not break anything. Sometimes that bar was too high. I loved it. We all helped each other in the pit if something did break.
I've also done the NASCAR driving experience and hit 170 on the straightaway. I was high for 3 days on the adrenaline. When I got home, I realized I would turn right around and drive back up if they called and said they had more track time. Matter of fact I'd do it right now.
The point of this is not to revisit my racing days but only to point out the similarities in racing and falling in love. It's something that obviously I need to be aware of going forward.
