I think the key is "Something snapped" That's worse than boy crazy, that's hyper-sexuality likely bordering on nymphomania. Given that this occurred at the age of 40, which is kind of the "poop or get off the pot" time for women to have kids, maybe the hypersexuality was a psychological last gasp to have kids? IDK, but it seems to have become her raison d'etre at that point.

There was definitely self-inflicted pressure to hurry up and find *the one* due to timing. I guess if she was fully reckless, she wouldn't have been using birth control and trapped whoever she determined prematurely was the one....but she really did want marriage first, then the kid so she was trying to force things with everyone prematurely & it would inevitably backfire.

But what I tell everyone is that when you're desperate, people can tell.
