It's lipservice that you are buying into. They aren't doing anything to take it out of the game. After the fact, pennies on the dollar fines does nothing.

We see the hits in every game. If they were really doing something, they would work their way out of the game.

I'm not buying into anything. I know they don't care about concussions. But they do care about image so they pretend to care about concussions. Of course you see hits every game. It's a violent sport by nature, that can't be changed. But, what you don't see are the devastating shots over the middle with forearms, targeting heads, nailing defenseless receivers regardless of if they catch the ball or not, etc. There are no Ronnie Lott, Sammy Knight, or Jack Lambert type players because it wasn't good for the image of the NFL and costs them corporate dollars. You do sometimes see it in the playoffs because they let them play in the playoffs because it only risks losing star players for a game or two and not for an entire season which hurts ratings.
