Saints expected to be very interested in former Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy [ Rapoport: Interview to be early next week]
McCarthy is a guy that could jump to the top of Loomis' list. He's not my favorite choice for HC, but he would be a very safe pick to build this team back to being a playoff contender every year. Dallas has had issues in the playoffs, but outside of this year, they have been there and have had some really good regular seasons.
I'd like a younger, more innovative, and more aggressive coach, but he might be the right guy to bring stability and bring this team back to being consistently in the playoffs. The problem is that I think he would likely only be a short term option given that he is already 61 and doesn't appear to be in great shape. Then again, Andy Reid is still going and Payton is also 61.
