Saints expected to be very interested in former Packers/Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy [McCarthy will interview early next week]

I think you kinda always want the new and exciting option. It’s mysterious and you don’t really know how it’ll turn out but it’s fresh and different so you’re on board.

But, there’s times where you just need an old reliable hand to come in and stabilize the team and stop the bleeding. A guy who knows how to fix these issues that have plagued the team for several years.

McCarthy may not set the world on fire but I think at worst he makes the team respectable again and gets us back into contention for the NFC South. At best he could find the freedom to be best version of himself here and have an Andy Reid-like renaissance.

So yeah I’m not against hiring McCarthy.
I think McCarthy immediately becomes the best Coach in the NFC South. I think we will get proven big name Coordinators. He had Mike Nolan, Dan Quinn, and Mike Zimmer as Coordinators. I
I was around for that fiasco...
He did a pretty good job of developing Delhomme into that Superbowl taking QB for the Panthers...
Also Aaron Brooks put up some nice stats in his Offense.

How do you know the decision to play Brooks was McCarthy's decision?
& a bad HC doesn't win as many games as he has as a HC.
I agree. He did great here in New Orleans. We do not win our first playoff game without McCarthy. Dude has coached Montana, Farve, and Rodgers, and when he was here our offenses were always in the top ten. Bro, this argument is kinda weak. Remember when the Packers won that Super Bowl. It was basically a mash unit. Everyone was hurt. I remember Aikman kept asking in the booth " How are they winning with these injuries.?" I know he gets great asst. coaches, and all he does is get the best from his QB's. He has Coached three Hall of Famers.
