Saints expected to be very interested in former Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy [ Rapoport: Interview to be early next week]

Fun fact - Mike McCarthy has had only five losing seasons in his 18 year head coaching career…

2008: GB 6-10
2017: GB 7-9
2018: GB 4-7-1 (fired)
2020: DAL 6-10
2024: DAL 7-10

In 2017, his starting QB Aaron Rodgers missed significant time due to injury, playing in only 7 games.

In each of this two losing seasons in Dallas, 2020 and 2024, his starting QB Dak Prescott missed significant time, playing in only 5 games in ‘20 and 8 games in ‘24.

So, 18 seasons, 5 losing seasons, 3 of which involved him not having his starting QB for more than half of the season.

This guy is a flat-out winner, knows how to build a program, and I want him to be our head coach.

Agreed. This guy survived 5 years as HC of the Cowboys and will be a HC again, not many former Cowboy HCs can say that. He will appreciate a GM who will allow him to make personnel decisions and an Owner to doesn't meddle while being well liked. I never really considered him an option as he's not the problem in Dallas. He is an option now and he's the best option available and it's not even close.
