Let's Make a Run at Mike McCarthy

Who do you want?

If the ceiling is 12-5 seasons and a Super Bowl win, what ceiling is high enough for you? Only Belichick?

And it doesn't matter if no coach has won a Super Bowl with two different franchises. It hasn't happened until it does and it's a nonsensical reason not to hire a coach.

And, I'm not sure McCarty is the right choice, but a .608 career win percentage (only 1% worse than Payton), 4 NFC Championship Game appearances (1 more than Payton), and 1 Super Bowl win (same as Payton) isn't close to low expectations unless you consider a 12-5 record in 3 of the last 4 years, consistently being in the playoffs, 4 NFC Championship games, and a Super Bowl win as low expectations. And if you do then I don't know that any coach is going to meet your expectations.

So what hire is not a low expectations hire?
A fresh face not a retread, I've said that several times.
