Let's Make a Run at Mike McCarthy

I've always liked McCarthy and I think he could do well with the franchise. I also like the idea of taking a shot on some younger candidates with fresher ideas. I really don't know if McCarthy could win a SB with the Saints. Yes, he did it in Green Bay, and Dallas is a dumpster fire and doesn't count. But I don't really care. I think he could help a great deal in the upcoming rebuild - which is likely to take 2-3 years - after which McCarthy might get a few more years to reap the benefits.

While I do like the other candidates, my concern would be that either they, the players, and/or the fans would get frustrated before the full turnaround happened.

Finally, and this is probably the best argument for McCarthy, this is the guy that was the Saints OC when Aaron Brooks won our first playoff game. If he could make Brooks look decent (and, IMO, he did), I dare say what he could do with Rattler or whoever comes along.
