Let's Make a Run at Mike McCarthy

Except he's not a Sean Payton 2.0. At all. Mike McCarthy has always underachieved in Dallas after Aaron Rodgers who caused a mutiny against Mike McCarthy in Green Bay. Sean Payton is overachieving in Denver after Drew Brees who retired loving his coach.

Can Mike McCarthy build a team? Yes. Can he out coach opposing coaches? No. Dallas has been silly stacked with talent the last several years and still got him basically nowhere in terms of super bowl competition.

I feel like people are so desperate just to compete for a wild card they're willing to settle for it in hopes that luck will show up to make a positive difference. I'd rather get a coach who can build a super bowl competitor and out coach the opposition. Swing for the fence.

Mike McCarthy should be viewed as a last resort.
What do you mean he is not? Explain. Because from a numbers standpoint they are mirror images of one another

Sean has been a HC for 17 years, Mike for 18 years

Sean is 170-105 as a HC, Mike is 174-112

Sean is 9-9 in the playoffs, Mike is 11-11

Sean has been to the NFC Championship 3 times, Mike 4 times

Sean is 1-0 in the SB, Mike is 1-0 in the SB

Sean has had a top 10 scoring offense 12 times, Mike has 11 times

Sean has had a top 10 scoring D 5 times, Mike has 6 times

He literally is Sean Payton 2.0 or Sean is Mike McCarthy 2.0

And do not act for one second like Sean did not underachieve in New Orleans a few seasons. Love everything about SP and appreciate him to my core, but come on....
