Saints expected to be very interested in former Packers/Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy [McCarthy will interview early next week]

It is relevant for a couple of reasons:
You can't discount the Cowboys' record the last 5 years, which was not 4 NFCCG's and a SB (which was 2 WC losses and 1 divisional loss) and just go back 7 years to the record with the Packers for convenience.

Then fact that no HC has won a SB with 2 different teams, is just that.

So, if the expectation is to flounder in the playoffs and don't win a SB, then fine.
7 coaches have made it to the Super Bowl with two different teams. I don't consider getting to the Super Bowl with a shot to win floundering. And if you are there you have a shot and those coaches losing had nothing to do with them being with their second team in the Super Bowl.

Also, McCarty was 12-5 for 3 of the last 4 years in Dallas with one playoff win. You would like more, but if you are in the playoffs, especially with 12 wins, you have a shot. I'll take having a shot every year for the next 5 or so years. And if McCarthy can't get over the hump, then you just move on to a younger coach when he is likely ready to retire anyway and has built you a playoff caliber roster for your next coach to try to get to the Super Bowl and win it.
