I still think McCarthy would be solid. I'm surprised no one against the hire mentions that McCarthy isn't a great "coach of coaches". Ben McAdoo and Joe Philben both flamed out quickly as NFL HCs. Jeff Jagodzinski lasted 2yrs at Boston College. There's an argument that he needs solid coaches and may not develop them well.
