The Jags, Im giving Lawrence a year before throwing that out.
IMO, the Jets, Raiders and Saints are just about equal in QB situations. None of them are good or better than the other when you factor in everything. Sure, Carr is probably the better (less below average?) of the QBs from those 3 teams currently on their rosters. But he is also a very known, very average commodity that needs a crapton of help that he doesnt have here.
Loomis can say, the next HC will have a say in the QB situation.....but how much say can you have when even as a post june 1 cut, Carr would create 21 million in dead money?
What the Raiders have is, 97 million in cap space. The Jets 17 million and we are at -57 million. We are more than twice as far in the hole as the #31 team in salary cap space. Yes, people bit when Loomis said that we have more players under contract, but we are still -57 million in the hole with what the roster we had, that is old, injured and overall not all that talented.
Both teams draft ahead of us. Both have more cap space than we do. So the QB situation might not be better in LV or NY RIGHT NOW, they do seem to have more flexibility to change that.
Id say the QB situation is a wash between us NY and LV.
