No doubt, but the reverse is also true. Whoever hires Ben Johnson will have to reconcile with the reality that in the best of worlds, they'll have a constant cycle of DCs coming and going.

All I'm saying is I want a CEO for a head coach who can provide broad direction and accountability to every phase of the game, including roster management.

I agree. But, I will say that it's probably easier to get and keep a good DC than it is to get or keep a good OC. Good OCs tend to get HC jobs quickly whereas DCs tend to have to wait.

Anyway, I just want the best HC possible regardless of what side of the ball he is on.
