Jets reporter says Aaron Glenn allegedly told people the Jets are his first choice to be HC

I think you are spot on for most of this. While at this moment we could say we have a better front office than the Jets, it's kind of like saying we're both terminal but we have a little longer to live (than the Jets). Neither are good situations.
I like our front office, and I think it is considered an asset in the perception of our coaching search around the league. We draft well enough, we are aggressive in FA when we can be, and we do all we can to give coaches a chance to be successful and to support them publicly and privately when things aren't going well. We treat our homegrown players well, even if to a fault sometimes, but I think that coaches and players see the Saints as a good place to work. I believe our FO will get things back on track, and we'll swing for the fences when we have an opportunity to. That's all you can ask of a FO.

The failure to identify and address our excessive injury issues is the biggest shortcoming of our FO/organization at this time. With even a little bit better injury luck, I think the last 4 seasons of Saints football would be viewed through an entirely different lens. DA was the wrong guy and not my first choice, but it made sense to give him the opportunity. Even though we're in a difficult situation right now with roster depth and the salary cap, we won't blow everything up. We'll endure a soft rebuild next year, and have an opportunity to be competitive again in '26 with the right coach and a couple of decent drafts.
