Pick which winning percentage you want

14-3 teams usually play at home. This was the first time in history a 14 win team didn't have home field adv throughout the playoffs.

In fairness, there were many 13-3 teams that didn’t have homefield throughout the playoffs, including us twice; they just didn’t get the “privilege” of playing a 17th game.

You do have a point though in that usually 13 or 14 win teams are virtually never playing on the road in round 1.

I still think the NFL playoff system is flawed in that regard. If the objective is to give the best teams the easiest path to the title, seeding should go strictly by record.

Sure, award division winners with the playoff berth, but the better, superior teams as defined by W-L record should be hosting.

A home playoff game is too much of a reward for winning a subpar division IMO, and having to play on the road in round 1 is too stiff of a penalty just because you happened to play in a division with a fellow great record team that barely edged you out of the top spot.
