Jane Slater: Coach Prime met with resistance after asking for more money for NIL and his staff

Not to go to much into the competition between the Saints and LSU, but I would not be surprised if she doesn’t.

Think of it like this. The Saints have no competition in the pro sports area until Atlanta. The only competition Gayle has is LSU.
If this NIL thing hits like everyone thinks it will and the southern schools without that NIL cash become less relevant. And that includes LSU.
A less competitive LSU means a bit more visibility to the Saints. Especially if they hit on another run.
This isn’t about this season or next.
If NIL is what everyone fears, that could lessen LSU’s fanbase in two decades. Especially if the Saints can pull off another championship run.
It's so overblown thinking the southern schools won't be able to come up with money for NIL deals. LSU currently has the 7th most NIL deals in the country. Something like 6 of the top 10 NIL money schools are from the south.

Just using LSU as an example.

They rank 5th in NIL revenue sharing for the 2025-2026 season

They rank 3rd in NIL collective funding

However, I am also aware that numbers can and are likely manipulated both ways on this. There is no way the common fan can get a true accurate picture of any of it because the numbers are so all over the place. One thing we know or should know, is that the idea that the southern schools cannot compete in the NIL times that we are in is completely overblown.

Sorry, we or I got off topic from the thread
