Jane Slater: Coach Prime met with resistance after asking for more money for NIL and his staff

Yes corporate NIL is separate, but the NCAA approved it. Which, they didn’t set any concrete rules in place bc they didn’t foresee how big of a 💩 show this would get.

I don’t give 2 💩s about the Underwood stuff. I’m all for athletes getting their money. I just believe that they should get their money after they made a name for themselves. Like actually playing and playing well. No kid, fresh out of high school, should be getting million dollar deals before stepping foot on campus. That is my issue. But hey, if millionaires and billionaires want to waste their money like that, then I won’t lose any sleep at night.
Its kind of like before they had a cap on drafted rookies in the NFL. It was insane how much money these top picks were getting before they played an NFL down. Eventually they came up with the rookie pay scale they use now but that was negotiated between the NFL and the players union. There is no players union in college football so I wouldn't expect any changes unless the players form a union and its collectively bargained. From the players side why would they want a union when they are the ones benefitting the most.
