I remember NOF’s articles saying Fuaga and Penning were going to compete for LT before rookie minicamp. Once Fuaga showed he’s the clear cut best LT firmly above what Penning showed at LT in ‘22-‘23, Penning’s remaining option was RT in OTAs.
Once OTAs started, we saw the OL coach John Benton say the plan was always Penning to RT. Fuaga’s earlier LT reps made it easier to declare that. Penning definitively being the RT was quiet while Fuaga was initially training to be LT. Allen’s statements were along the lines of “right now” and we’ll see how it goes during Fuaga’s initial LT training.
