the pond was half frozen and ducks would fly in and 'skate' a bit before getting to the water - it was mesmerizing for this NO boy

this reminds me so much of a favorite park and picture from AmsterdamSome interesting stills from New Orleans 12/31/1963. The first one is Tulane Stadium, the third one is in Audubon Park:
