Joe Brady absolutely elevated the QB play with Teddy Bridgewater in Carolina. Teddy had a career year there in Joe Brady's first year and so did their RB. It was the second year with Sam Darnold that didn't go well.
Maybe you don't recall, but that year with Teddy, people on this board were complaining that we let him go, but were also happy for him because it was going so well.
And to be fair, we just watched Sam Darnold do the same things the last few games this season under Kevin O'Connell (who we know is a great coach) that Darnold also did under Joe Brady.
IDK if Sean McVay got the idea from Aaron Glenn, but we saw the Lions in the last game of the season disguise their bliztes and we watched Sam Darnold struggle because of it. Then Sean McVay comes in and did the same exact thing the first playoff game, and Sam Darnold struggled.
I haven't watched any of those Carolina games, but it would be worth consideration that perhaps Sam Darnold super struggles against disguised defenses and perhaps that played a role in that Carolina season.
