Didn’t need to be in the QB room. Mahomes is one of the rare athletes that is truly blessed by God and was destined to be head/shoulders above the competition, if he put in the work. Dude was making crazy *** throws in college and those throws only got more remarkable in the NFL. He’s insane with accuracy, power, body control, mentality, etc.
If Mahomes was average or just above average his first year starting, then turned a corner his second year starting, then fine, I could see how Kafka gets credit. From the very first game that Mahomes started, he was ripping the NFL a new one and it just continued. That’s credit to the man taking the snaps.

Now let me ask, was Kafka there at TTU with Mahomes???
