The Argument for a Stealth Head Coach Candidate

I think it’s been way more dire back in the old days. Having said that I do believe that this is the least talented roster we’ve had in a very very long time. I do not mean that as a shot, just how I see it as a fan who’s watched 45 years. For me, I’d have to go back to the Ditka days to see as little talent.

No shade at Cam or DD, or even Mathieu. They were studs, uber talented, Father Time is undefeated. We have a lot more Foskey’s than we do good players imo.

This is the least talented roster that we have had in a long time, but we did have some really good rosters in the past. Anway, I think this is a mediocre roster. It's not good and it's not terrible. We don't have enough playmakers on either side of the ball to be a good team, but good coaching and reasonable roster management can get you to 8 or 9 wins. And if you hit on some draft picks you are back in the 10 win range. I mean the first two games of this year may have been a bit of a mirage and they aren't close to actually being that good, but I think they at least show that when healthy, this is a solid roster that can win with good coaching and health when things go right. They were even close to Philly and Washington despite the coaching issues and lots of injuries against Washington. Most of DAs career was a study in how to lose close games.

I'm not fully confident that we can draft well enough to do that, but I do think an experienced guy like McCarty would assure you that you have good coaching and he might help with picking the right talent in the draft.
