While the area can scare up a few snowplows, there is no way all the back roads could be cleared of the ice that will come from the slush that is on the roads now. No doubt a few main highways will be treated with salt and or brine. But fewer will actually be cleared by means of small handful of snowplows that exist in south Louisiana. From what I heard, there has been a company out of Mississippi that was hired to come down to the New Orleans area with a small fleet of plows to help with some of the snow clearing. But they certainly won't be able to clear anything outside of the main roads in order to assist official vehicles and emergency equipment around the city. There's no doubt that some personal vehicles will be venturing where the result could be parking the car sideways in a ditch. :covri:
