I briefly met Mickey Loomis in 2011 at an adjoining clubhouse table at the Fair Grounds for a race day. He was super into the races but not obnoxiously so, his competitive side was apparent.
Saw Bobby Hebert buying odds & ends in the Lakeview Walgreens once. I think they underreported his height on the gameday roster, or my own hangover wooziness that morning made him seem gigantic.
No other front office or team media stories. I’ve met several players between 2000-2015 or so. Most of those stories are nondescript, or I was working and had to be professional to them. Once upon a night on the town in the CBD, a defensive back’s entourage tried to steal a bottle from a VIP section I was in. Somehow, said DB recognized me weeks later at a hotel bar. Wasn’t my section, wasn’t my problem. I think I was supposed to pass the word on :shrug:And his height was definitely overreported.
