The cans were probably much colder than the ground so they'll show what really came down. The ground down there is probably warm enough to melt the snow quickly. I'd be worried that the melting snow will turn to ice.
I think that is what is going to happen. It's up to 33 degrees and the sun is out and melting some of the snow, especially in places where people walked. But it's going to freeze again tonight and I think the streets will be skating rinks until late afternoon.
