I think Netflix anime shows are akin to Chick-fil-A. It can be really good, but it's not where you go when you want fried chicken. It's where you go when you want CFA. You can get good anime on Netflix, but it's not where you go when you want anime.
Yeah, you can usually count of Netflix having the biggest hits of the year and then a few other things, but if you have more niche interests they are kind of lacking.I'm big Gundam fan, but they have comparatively little compared to CR.
If you're somebody that's really into obscure isekais, or shojo stuff, or like 80s and 90s retro OVAs, Netflix is very lacking. They're essentially anime for the casual market, not the hardcore.
