Jaguars Fire GM Trent Baalke

Totally bizarre. When the head coach was fired, my memory is that the owner was specifically asked about and defended the general manager. Now what? Is the owner open to a head coach who will largely be the general manager, or will the owner, who might have someone in mind, quickly hire a general manager who will resume the search for a new head coach?

Jacksonville has to do something quickly. Without a general manager, few will want the head-coach job, and there is the question of who will conduct the head-coach search.
Not really...Kahn did an interview --with Baalke right there-- and said they were staying put with him as GM unless a HC gave them a good reason not too...it was awkward, but very telling.
Coaches knew what was going on and nobody wanted the job. It will likely be better now with a power vacuum to fill, possibly giving a new coach extra power/say in things.
