If it helps to think that they really didn't want him anyway, OK, but, that seems pretty silly to me.
That's not what I think. The Saints clearly were interested in him and I'm guessing they would have liked to interview him.
No one outside the Saints hiring committee, not even the "reporters," knows how much the Saints wanted each coach and how they had them ranked. Everything said about that has been nothing but outside speculation and rumor.
Didn't Glenn do a virtual interview with the Saints, since that's the only way he could at the time? Glenn scheduled his 2nd interview with the Jets first. Glenn decided he wanted the Jets job. Why would Glenn keep his interview with the Saints, after he decided to take the Jets' job?
Also, Glenn choosing the Jets over the Saints only shows that he liked the Jets job the best. It doesn't necessarily mean he had any animosity or low opinions of the Saints. It also doesn't mean that he didn't. We just don't know unless Glenn tells someone himself.
People interpret and draw conclusions based on their biases unless they make an effort not too.
